A day dedicated to the celebration of Frozen Yogurt? You better believe it. National Frozen Yogurt day is unofficially on February 6th each year. Why do we say “unofficially?” There are two reasons. First, there is no solid proof that February 6th is the actual day when everyone in the frozen yogurt industry commemorates their products. In fact, there’s an ongoing debate about whether this celebration should occur on February 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th. Second, there is no actual, solid proof that the President of the United States or a member of the United States Congress proclaimed this to be an official holiday. But guess what? We don’t care! We believe that every day should be a day to honor frozen yogurt… in our opinion, making the holiday “official” is not necessary. So, please join us this week in raising your cups of frozen yogurt and enjoying the day!
What Happens on National Frozen Yogurt Day?
This question is not easy to answer because different members of the frozen yogurt industry celebrate the day in different ways. Many frozen yogurt franchises recognize the day by giving out free frozen yogurt and/or free toppings to customers. For example, Yogurtland (which celebrated National Frozen Yogurt Day this year on February 3rd) offered free frozen yogurt toppings to all customers who visited participating locations between the hours of 4 pm and 7 pm.
Retail and food chain SweetXO (with several locations in Southern California) is offering its Facebook fans a coupon for 8 ounces of XOgurt if they download a coupon and bring it into one of their shops.
Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt is offering the first 6 ounces frozen yogurt for free to anyone who “likes” their Facebook page and either downloads a printable coupon or displays the coupon on a mobile device. Menchie’s offer is happening on February 6, 2014.
The popular frozen yogurt franchise Pinkberry is helping to spread frozen yogurt joy by offering a free small Pinkberry frozen yogurt with any choice of toppings (at participating locations) between 3 pm and 7 pm on February 6, 2014.
But the freebies don’t stop there! Frozen yogurt shops around the United States – and even around the world – are offering all sorts of promotions in honor of National Frozen Yogurt Day. For more information about what’s happening in your vicinity, simply search the internet using a keyword phrase such as, “Free yogurt on National Frozen Yogurt Day 2014” and see what you can find!
